Tutorials

The examples in this tutorials are builds using Jupyter notebooks, which can be downloaded from the github repository.

  • Visualize spherical harmonic filters in the spatial domain
    • 1. Import the necessary modules
    • 2. Define a set of locations and create unit loads at the specified locations
    • 3. Filter the unit loads with a Gaussian filter
    • 4. Add a version which is filtered with an anisotropic DDK4 filter
    • 5. Apply spherical harmonic synthesis on grids centered on the locations
    • 6. Visualize the filter kernels
    • 7. Interpretation
  • Compute Terrestrial Water Storage anomalies from GRACE-FO data
    • 1. Load the necessary python modules
    • 2. Load the sample data from the tarball (making use of the tables in the sqlite file)
    • 3. Create anomalies by subtracting the static gravity field from the monthly solutions
    • 4. Convert to Terrestrial Water Storage
    • 5. Grid to a global grid and make a quick visualization of a certain month
    • 6. Filtering of GRACE
    • 7. Visualize Time Series
    • 8. Interpretation
